Bristol Airport (BRS)
Best for: Start a regional drive soon after landing
Allow for the covered-bridge walk and Bay 1 transfer before the centre handover.
Bristol Airport car hire is collected at a separate Car Rental Centre, reached by the dedicated bus from Bay 1 at the Transport Interchange. Cross the covered bridge from the terminal, then follow signs to the shuttle bay. Buses run every 15 minutes from 06:00 to midnight; overnight service is on demand using the number shown at the stop. Enterprise uses the centre alongside eight other rental brands. Some airport-labelled offers use a separate off-airport depot, so inspect the supplier address before taking the Bay 1 bus. For a Bristol-only stay, compare the A1 Flyer into the centre and a later city branch with days of airport rental and parking. For Somerset, Bath or a multi-stop South West drive on landing, allow for the centre transfer before planning the first leg.

Preparing live car hire search
Best for: Start a regional drive soon after landing
Allow for the covered-bridge walk and Bay 1 transfer before the centre handover.
Selected airport rental operators and collection arrangements. Check availability in your search. Your selected offer and voucher identify the booked branch.
Enterprise arrivals pass through the Transport Interchange to Bus Stop 1 for the Car Hire Village shuttle. Its rental counter and vehicle return are at the centre, not the terminal forecourt.
Do not confuse the rental shuttle with Bristol Airport parking transfers.
After baggage claim, follow signs over the covered bridge to the Transport Interchange. Exit to the right through the double doors for Bus Stop 1, also signed as the Car Hire Village stop. The dedicated bus takes passengers to the Car Rental Centre. The Enterprise centre address is Bristol International Airport, BS48 3DW. Keep the shuttle leg in the pickup schedule if travelling with children, bulky bags or reduced mobility. A rental desk at the centre is not within the terminal building. An airport-labelled off-airport offer may use its own depot and shuttle, so check the precise address first.
The bus runs every 15 minutes from 06:00 to midnight. Between midnight and 06:00 the shuttle is requested using the contact number displayed at Bay 1. That overnight transport does not mean the chosen counter will accept a late pickup. First verify whether the offer uses the airport centre or a separate depot. Check the operator hours, flight number process and delayed-arrival policy before booking. If the collection falls outside staffed hours, arrange a different pickup time or location rather than assuming a key box works for collection.
The A1 Flyer provides a direct city-first option.
The A1 Flyer runs between the airport, Temple Meads and Bristol Bus Station through the Transport Interchange. If the first days are in the centre and the car would remain parked, compare that bus plus a later named city branch with the full airport hire. Enterprise has a Bristol City Centre branch as well as its airport counter, but their hours and return entrances differ. Carrying bags to a city hotel and then collecting on the actual driving day may make the schedule simpler.
Compare Bristol pickup timingFor an arrival followed by Somerset villages, Bath-area accommodation or several regional stops, the centre handover may save a second branch trip. Select the first actual address and check current road conditions before leaving the centre. A Bristol airport booking and a city-centre booking are different collection points; do not assume one can be exchanged for the other after landing. If the itinerary ends in another town, place that exact return location in the quote before paying.
Compare South West starting pointsThe terminal passenger zones are not the rental handback.
Use the branch address in the agreement and signed Car Rental Centre approach. Return an Enterprise vehicle to its bay at the centre, BS48 3DW. Build in time to inspect the vehicle, settle fuel under the selected policy, unload luggage and board the shuttle back to the Transport Interchange. Cross the covered bridge to the terminal after the bus. The general passenger Drop Off & Pick Up Car Park and Silver Zone are separate airport facilities.
Enterprise provides an after-hours return process: use an Enterprise bay and the drop box inside the building. Its terms place responsibility for vehicle condition through the next staff inspection. This is company-specific. A pre-dawn departure also needs the shuttle, whose overnight service is on demand. Confirm the chosen supplier can accept the return time and keep photographs and the key-drop record. Allow for a wait before security rather than treating the road arrival as the end of the journey.
The bus is part of the timing; the offer sets the money terms.
Compare the total payable, card hold or deposit, damage excess, cover exclusions, mileage, fuel policy, child seats and additional drivers. The main driver must meet the selected operator requirements and bring the right licence and payment card to the remote centre. An excess policy bought separately may reimburse later but leave the rental deposit in place. Check the agreement before travelling to Bay 1. Include parking at the first accommodation and any tolls on the actual drive.
Estimate total Bristol hire costIf the South West itinerary finishes in Newquay, Cardiff or London, enter that drop-off in the search. One-way permission, charge and operating hours vary with the supplier and car category. Compare the full one-way price with returning to Bristol Airport, including fuel and the shuttle time before a departing flight. A city branch is not automatically interchangeable with the airport Car Rental Centre.
Compare a Bristol one-way returnAn airport bus transfer precedes the boot-space test.
Count all occupants, cases, cabin bags, pushchairs and child seats with every passenger seat in use. The transfer to the centre should be manageable with that luggage. At the car, check real boot fit and make sure luggage does not block the rear view. A class image is illustrative and the actual model can differ. Confirm automatic transmission or a child seat on the chosen offer before leaving home, then verify the installed seat and assigned car during handover.
Check luggage and seat fitBristol city accommodation, Bath parking and rural Somerset lanes create different trade-offs. A compact vehicle can suit tighter spaces if it carries the full party safely; a larger class may be comfortable for long legs but harder to park. Check the hotel or cottage entrance and any height restriction. An SUV body style does not grant permission to use restricted tracks. Put the true first overnight address into navigation before leaving the centre.
Airport access, Bristol city and regional roads require different starts.
Once the keys are handed over, navigate from the Car Rental Centre to the first accommodation, not back to the passenger entrance. Bristol Airport sits on the A38 corridor, with regional choices depending on whether the trip turns toward Bristol, Bath or Somerset. Check the current road route and any local parking plan. If the first stay is central Bristol, compare the A1 Flyer before committing to unused car days. A delayed flight may justify a nearer overnight stop before a longer South West leg.
A return to BRS finishes at the Car Rental Centre followed by the Bay 1 bus to the Transport Interchange and a walk over the bridge. A return elsewhere is a separate booked one-way trip. Save the branch postcode and the flight departure time separately; an airport terminal navigation pin does not lead to the rental bays. Before the final day, review the agreed fuel level, opening hours and overnight shuttle arrangement.
Set the actual return branchThe airport Car Rental Centre is reached by bus from Transport Interchange Bay 1. Check the selected offer because some airport-labelled companies use a different off-airport depot.
The airport runs it on demand from midnight to 06:00 using the number displayed at the stop. Confirm that your rental counter accepts the planned collection time.
Bay 1 serves the Car Rental Centre. Silver Zone is airport parking, so follow the rental operator and Car Hire Village signs.
To the booked operator at the Car Rental Centre, then take the bus back to the Transport Interchange and walk to the terminal.
An Enterprise after-hours return uses its bay and a key box in the centre building. Check the agreement and its next-inspection responsibility rule.
Compare the A1 Flyer to Bristol centre and a later city branch with airport hire days and hotel parking. An immediate regional drive may favour airport collection.
Choose your dates and compare the total price, pickup arrangements and rental conditions. Check the branch and return plan before confirming an offer.
