Where do cruise passengers disembark?
The Port Adelaide Passenger Terminal is on Oliver Rogers Road at Outer Harbor, around 23 km from central Adelaide. By road, the port approach uses A7 or A9 to Port Adelaide and A16 to Outer Harbor.
This is separate from Adelaide Airport and from a central-city rental branch. Check your cruise berth and the depot address before quoting a car, especially if the ship is in port for only a day.
Can you collect a hire car at Gate C?

Train, taxi or transfer to the depot?
Outer Harbor Railway Station is about 200 m from the terminal. Trains run from there through Port Adelaide to Adelaide Railway Station, and the journey takes about 35 minutes. This is a practical route to a city depot if its opening hours match the ship's disembarkation time.
Taxis and tour buses wait directly outside the passenger terminal building, and there is no luggage storage at the terminal. For heavy luggage, mobility needs or a depot away from the station, quote a transfer against the train option and allow time for walking and collection paperwork.
What if your ship has a short port call?
A short call may lose much of the day to leaving the ship, getting to a depot and returning it. Confirm the rental branch’s collection and return hours against the ship’s all-aboard time before selecting a long drive.
If the car is only for a city visit, the direct rail connection may be simpler. A hire car makes more sense for an out-of-town plan when the depot and return timing are confirmed.
